Connecting to the Museum’s Existing Collection:
Georg Kolbe’s Verkündigung embodies a tension between modernism and the human form. By temporarily wrapping the sculpture in black, the work reconfigures its form and weight, shifting it from a static relic into a living presence. This gesture suspends visibility in order to intensify perception, inviting a renewed dialogue between the sculpture, its space, and its time.

The intervention reflects my ongoing interest in how visibility, absence, and spatial tension reconfigure the ways we engage with historical forms.

unlike fabric, which is symbolic and cultural, black film is reflective and resistant — absorbing light instead of breathing it.
